Wait, isn’t MMR just my Rank Points?
Nope, they’re two different things and it trips people up all the time. Your RP is the number you can actually see, the one tied to your tier and division. MMR sits underneath that and never shows up anywhere in the client. It’s what the matchmaker actually uses when it’s picking your next lobby. League players will recognize this split right away since LP and hidden MMR work the same way there. Nobody outside NetEase knows the exact formula, so this checker leans on the same clues everyone else uses: your rank, how your recent games have gone, and how much RP moves per win or loss.
Can my MMR really sit above my visible rank?
Yeah, it happens more than you’d think. If your wins are earning you more RP than your losses are costing you, or you’ve just been on a heater, the game already thinks you’re better than your division suggests. That gap usually doesn’t last long. A few solid wins and a win streak bonus later, your RP catches up and the two numbers line back up.
Does the Chrono Shield mess with my MMR at all?
It doesn’t touch it. Chrono Shield just stops your visible RP from dropping you a division after a loss. Behind the scenes, that loss still counts as a loss. Your hidden rating moves exactly like it would if the shield never fired.
Does queuing solo change anything?
Once you’re past Gold I, yes. Solo RP starts tracking your own performance instead of averaging in whoever you partied with, so it lines up more closely with your real MMR. That’s usually why a game feels totally different solo versus in a duo. Your teammate’s bad night can drag your RP around even when your MMR barely moves.
So how close is this to my actual number?
Honestly, think of it as a pretty good guess, not gospel. NetEase keeps the real MMR locked away, so every checker out there, this one included, is working off the same public breadcrumbs: your rank, your RP swings, and your last handful of games. The more ranked matches you’ve logged this season, the more this estimate has to work with.
